Curriculum
CASSIOBURY JUNIOR SCHOOL – CURRICULUM STATEMENT
At Cassiobury Junior School, we aim to offer a curriculum that is broad, balanced and forward looking. Our intent is to set children up to be prepared for the future by giving them a range of skills and knowledge that will prepare them for the wider world. We aim to teach our pupils a range of skills that can be tracked, revisited and repeated until they are learned. Checklists are designed to track the skills to support assessment and planning.
At Cassiobury Junior, curriculum is broader than just the National Curriculum. It encompasses all of our teaching both formal and informal. It includes all of the experiences from assemblies, behaviour expectations, pastoral support, clubs, events, classroom jobs, productions, trips, class discussions and so much more.
For further information, please see our Teaching Policy.
Homework
Homework is designed to either practise or prepare for learning. Pupils should be practicing spellings and times tables & number facts on a regular basis. They should be reading every day. All spellings and homework will be made available on the year groups Google Classroom. Teachers may also set further homework tasks to prepare for future learning, pre-teach or practice skills where necessary.
